Many times good to excellent songs get passed up for a variety of reasons…for instance Decca once sent the Beatles a rejection letter saying that in their opinion they didn’t like their sound and guitar music was on it’s way out. Sometimes it’s a matter of not having the right connections, or not catching the eye ( ear ) of the right DJ who will give you the air-time.
If all you ever listen to is Top 40 pop radio, or Top 40 classic rock radio, chances are you’ve never even heard of most of these, and that’s too bad, because there’s really some great songs out there that never get played by commercial radio that caters to their advertisers and not the music.
Well…if you come from the 60’s or 70’s generation, or are a hard-core classic rock lover, some of these you might remember, and many you will remember if you listen to them, and many that you don’t remember but should listen to.
Some of these are rare songs that never made the Top 40 ( but should have ), some are rare one-hit-wonders, and all of these are worth your time tracking down and adding to your collections.
If you like music, and have a fondness for the classic oldies, you won’t want to just read this and not follow up on these tunes.
Most of these you will never hear played on Classic Rock radio stations.
All of these songs I have played on my Blip Station at TheTAZZone
These tunes are spun in no particular order, so ignore the numbering.

Hi Jordon,
I posted them in no particular order, so positioning isn’t really any indication of how much I like one over the other.
Were you in the band, or know someone who was? We do get several artists thanking us for including them in our lists or to ask us if we would include them.
Why Sherbet – Summer Love so low?
As a child i had a record called “you can’t get sexy with a worm in your hand”. It started “you can’t sexy with a worm in your hand, put it back put it back put it back in the sand, cause you can’t get sexy with a worm in your hand”. Basically a guy was trying to flirt with a girl on the beach, but needed to put the fishing worm down first. The label had a crawling smiling worm on it. My wife tossed it when I was grown. I believe a man in Huntsville, Alabama had made it, but sold few because the name sounded sexual. It was a funny song with a good sound. Kind of like spiders & snakes. Lots of guitar. I bought it off another kid whose mom didn’t like it.

Thanks Barry! I used to have a rather large collection of rare, and one-hit wonders at one time back in the day…of course they weren’t rare or one-hit wonders at the time. 😀 I’m trying to keep these puppies alive and expose a new generation to appreciation of the 60’s and 70’s beyond just top 40 pop.
I personally love the song “All The Time” ( as I do most of the music I list and play on my Blip Station ). And am in the process of completing 100 Rare Classic Rock Songs 2.
Thanks,
and if you have any suggestions of songs feel free to list them.
I play all these songs on my Blip Station. 😉
