I’m not interested in the least in joining any site that poses a serious security risk, has an incomplete or questionable privacy policy, has a terms of use that is also incomplete or questionable, any site that tells me I must join once I access their home page, or any site that requires a good deal of my time…

I already have my hands full with a full-time job, my kids ( single dad-meaning I do everything dad and mom does  ), several websites over 8 domains, my Twitter and Blips, and a registered charity I assist in the operation of…

so…inotherwords, my time is extremely limited…so even if I wanted to participate, even if they had good security, a perfect privacy policy and terms of service, and begged me to join, I wouldn’t be able to.

The only thing you are accomplishing by sending me these type of DM’s is distracting from the DM’s I do want to see and respond to.

In short…to wrap this up…and no offense intended…or should be implied…

STOP filling my DM box with this crap.

Twitter’s discussions with Microsoft and Google are being conducted separately and would allow each company to incorporate the 140-character messages, or “tweets,” that Twitter is known for into their Internet search results.

First there was the time I somehow magically lost about 3000 tweets ..where they went who knows

then there was the time every time I refreshed a page both followers and following would disappear…about 10-100 each time

then there was the time I magically unfollowed several hundred people …who probably were pissed at me even though I didn’t do it

then there are all the times I have tried to un-favorite tweets and Twitter won’t let me

and just in the last few days I have somehow ( again magically ) unfollowed several people

this isn’t even including all the downtime, slow page loads, etc…

maybe there’s a good explanation…maybe it’s a poltergeist…but more than likely it’s just plain old-fashioned incompetence.

A Texas-based firm is suing the micro-blogging site Twitter, alleging that its three patents for a similar service are being infringed.

TechRadium’s system, called Iris, provides notification technology so that alerts can be sent to many users.

Alerts can be sent to a number of devices, including mobiles.

The firm claims several organisations may choose to use the free Twitter service instead of paying for Iris, resulting in lost revenue.

1. excessive questionable product marketing

2. spam DM’s

3. link spamming to less than reputable sites

4. problems with the followers and following lists changing without doing anything  ( eg. I apparently unfollowed over a 100 people the other day and I didn’t do it…and this is not the first time this has happened )

5. too many third-party games that are being promoted, and DMed, even though many of these games lack, or are missing entirely, a proper privacy policy or terms of use

6. being unable to unfavorite favorites and other associated issues

7. 140 characters is not enough to have a good conversation with anyone

Overall I am very disappointed with Twitter…I’ve made some good friends, but the limitations of Twitter are not conducive to maintaining those relationships beyond mere quips…

I was never much of a chat person…I prefer the comfort of a forum where you can have extended conversations and really get to know the people you are talking to.

I really think my days at Twitter are numbered…as I have increasing less interest in being there.

I will continue to promote my friends and my “Best Twitters to Follow” List…and make the occasional comment …but I think that my presence there will be random at best.

For us to even consider you for our 3000 followers you must be following us…because we’re not going to search all over Twitter looking for you.

We already edit our list regularly…but once we reach our goal of 3000 we will not be adding any more, we will just be editing…removing and replacing.

This is just our notice of intention…so that you know why we aren’t following you back right away when we start following 3000 people.

We will do our best to add the most interesting people to our list of 3000 by regularly checking those who follow us and editing our list accordingly.
