CS: GO and eSports continue to attract new fans

As our gaming platforms continue to enhance and develop with the new technology and ideas that are put forward, we are seeing one specific area grow significantly. That’s eSports, where players’ face-off against each other on some of the most well-known games out there, including Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO).

CS: GO is a multiplayer first-person shooter game, where players will hunt and seek the enemy trying to achieve many objectives along the way. Of course, this game can be played in the traditional format of consoles, but it is also a major eSports game. So much so, that Turkey were recently crowned World Champions after beating Argentina 2-1 in the final. It was quite the shock, after Turkey had only qualified because Australia failed to field a team for the competition in Belgrade, but that didn’t stop the Turks who would taste victory.

As well as that, there are regular leagues that attract teams, which is popular in both Europe and North America, which displays how the appeal of eSports has gone far and wide. What’s more, you can even bet on the outcome of these games. You can find match winner odds for CS:GO at Betway who will keep you up to speed with all of the latest goings on from all of the leagues. As well as CS: Go odds, they offer markets on other high profile eSports games such as Dota 2 and League of Legends.

The ESL Pro League is currently one of the most competitive, with teams from Brazil, America and Canada, although the team Cloud9 are currently showing excellent form at the top of the table. But as mentioned, this is just one of many leagues that attract teams, and fans.

Overall, it seems that this is certainly the future of gaming, and the figures suggest it’s not going to stop anytime soon. With more players, from younger ages, taking up and watching eSports, the audience is there and likely to be for a long time yet. The revenues will continue to increase, and the appeal will continue to grow – with CS: GO at the front as one of the most played games.
