Well the last of the hold-outs have finally succumbed to the pressure. Dollar Tree in the US has stated that it will be raising it’s prices in some stores ( which means eventually all stores ) to the $1.25-$1.50 price point. Not surprising, really, considering that some stores like Dollar General have price points up to $10, in fact Dollar tree owned Family Dollar also has moved up to a price point of $10. No doubt investors are jumping for joy at the news as they hug their wallets in anticipation, while the rest of us mourn another end of an era.
