30 Jan 1964  –    Searchers –   Needles & Pins ( this song was written by Sonny Bono )

23 Apr 1964   –   Peter & Gordon –    A World Without Love ( another Lennon and McCartney tune )

9 Jul 1964   –   Animals –   The House Of The Rising Sun

14 Jan 1965   –   Georgie Fame & The Blue Flames –   Yeh Yeh

4 Feb 1965   –   Righteous Brothers –   You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling

29 Jan 1969   –   Fleetwood Mac –   Albatross ( their first and only UK number one…they started out as a blues band and changed to rock in the 70’s and 80’s  )

11 Jun 1969   –   Beatles –   The Ballad Of John & Yoko ( their 17th and last number one hit in the UK )

20 Sep 1969   –   Creedence Clearwater Revival –   Bad Moon Rising
