30 Jan 1971 – George Harrison – My Sweet Lord – George was successfully sued for plagiarism by the Chiffons for copying their song ‘ He’s so Fine ‘
6 Mar 1971 – Mungo Jerry – Baby Jump – their 2nd and last number one
24 Jul 1971 – T Rex – Get It On – was their 2nd of 4 number one hits in the UK, their first number one was ‘ Hot Love ‘
19 Feb 1972 – Chicory Tip – Son of my Father – the first number one hit to have a Moog Synthesiser
11 Mar 1972 – Nilsson – Without You – this is a song about suicide, and ironically the two members of Badfinger that wrote it committed suicide

9 Sep 1972 – Slade – Mama Weer All Crazee Now
