TheTAZZone - Internet Chaos

Sorry, but I just don’t get it

No doubt this is going to offend a lot of people…but…

OK, I woke up after a short nap to see a show on that had celebs walking up a red carpet to some shin-dig…probably some premiere or something…I was watching Evil Dead 2 when I fell asleep…

and there was a lot of clapping, enthusiastic photographers and reporters, etc…a lot of owwwing and ohhhhing and such…

and I’m thinking in my head ‘ what kind of moronic display of displaced affection is this crap ‘…

they didn’t cure cancer, stop a war, create 10,000 jobs for the unemployed, build shelters for the homeless, all they did was have a highly overpaid job that has a high public profile…

sorry, but I just don’t get it…

I just do not get the obsessive compulsion people have for celebs…it doesn’t surprise me that cults can convince people to drink tainted kool-aid when I see these kind of absurd displays of displaced affection…

like, what the frig is wrong with these people…is it insecurity in themselves that they reach out to celebs to fulfill their existence…do they suffer from obsessive compulsive behavioral problems…what is wrong with these people that they so admire these celebs that they’ll stand in line for hours just to get a glimpse of them walking down a red carpet…

the day I stand in line to see some overpaid self-absorbed person who just made a movie, or won a award for whatever…

shoot me…please.

Edit: don’t get me wrong…they provide good entertainment, but I would no more stand in line to see one of them than I would stand in line to see a person who just won electrician of the year.

It’s just a job, like any other job…only like sports figures they get paid much better than we do…but it’s still just a job…

sorry, but I just don’t get it…
