Again…there are a lot of good songs about Friday so it wasn’t easy to pick just ten, but we did it. But we’re not specifying an order of importance…so here they are…

J.J. Cale – Friday ( from his 1979 album called ‘ 5 ‘…even though Cale had only one US hit himself – Crazy Mama – other artists have had success with his songs including Eric Clapton, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Kansas, among others )

Genesis – Get ‘Em Out By Friday ( from their 1972 album ‘ Foxtrot ‘ )

Guttermouth – Good Friday ( from their 1997 album ‘ Musical Monkey ‘ )

Aqua – Freaky Friday ( the 3rd track from their second album ‘ Aquarius ‘ which was released in 2000 )

Steely Dan – Black Friday ( from the 1975 gold album ‘ Katy Lied ‘…the song is about the infamous Friday, September 24, 1869 in the US )

The Cure - Friday I’m In Love ( from their 1992 album ‘ Wish ‘, this song was nominated for a Grammy Award )

Nancy Sinatra – Friday’s Child ( was a 1966 single, and was on her 1967 album ‘ Movin’ with Nancy ‘ )

Paul Weller – Friday Street ( from his 1997 album ‘ Heavy Soul ‘…about a Hamlet with the same name around Surrey, England )

Generation X – Friday’s Angels ( from the 1979 album ‘ Valley of the Dolls ‘…GX was a Billy Idol and Tony James band, and the two wrote all the songs )
