When I first started using places like AdBrite I thought they would produce reasonable results…they don’t…not for the average site anyways. The simple fact is medium to low traffic sites are ‘ not ‘ going to make any money using these ‘ we’ll sell your space for you places ‘.
Maybe the big guns make some reasonable return…sites like CNET, Photobucket, etc…but for the vast majority of us …forget it…don’t even waste your time.
I don’t mean to particularly single out AdBrite…or maybe I do…but, they’re not all that reliable either…for instance when we were advertising on AdBrite we specifically set our page/site Auto-approve network ads to ‘ NO ‘ …and never approved any full-page ADs ( you know…the ones that pop up in front of your website and you have to click away )…but lo-and-behold…every once in awhile one would be there…unauthorized and unapproved…even complained to them in e-mails and over the phone…their reaction was ‘ we’ll get to it ‘…
no apology, no admission that they messed-up…no ‘ sorry about that, we’ll remove the offending AD immediately ‘…nope…nada…
when I plied them for an explanation as to ‘ how ‘ an unapproved AD made it’s way onto our website…
nothing…
no explanation whatsoever…
so…I scraped the code…you will never see AdBrite code on this website or anywhere in our Network again.
Advertiser beware…you do get what you pay for…AdBrite is free to sign up…and their service and reliability is on par with it’s cost. 
Now…that isn’t to say that they are all that bad…we haven’t tried them all…but…the fact is, they are in the business to make money…for themselves…not you…you are an after-thought…the price they have to pay to be in business…
just don’t bend over.
